From Europe to the rest of the world, many sports have had their journey and made it to continents and lands far away, or at least, they used to be far away. Golf, starting its journey from Scotland, ended up on the Asian continent, as well.
With that in mind, it is a very well developed sport in Japan, for instance, but also in other countries. If you are a golf fan and are planning on having a trip through Asia, here are some golf courses to consider, in Asia’s many countries.
Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club
Going to Hong Kong is an adventure in itself but if you want to make it even more special, then you have to visit this golf club. Located in a bay, as the name suggests, it is surrounded by amazing scenery and that is an understatement.
The greens are amazing and the course has some history, but other than that, you should see it to be able to truly appreciate its beauty and that of the area, obviously.
The Els Club Teluk Datai
Malaysia is a country which spans many islands. Visiting it requires patience and being a fan of boats. On the other hand, when you reach Langkawi, you will be greeted with a very lovely and scenic golf course. The beauty of the scenery rivals that of any other course, but due to the exotic locations, you can expect a rainforest, the Andaman Sea and nothing short of an ocean being in your way to finish the last hole.
The Tokyo Golf Club
The location of the Tokyo Golf Club should be obvious so if you are headed to Japan, know that you will be in one of the world’s most passionate golfing countries. Japan has more golf courses than any other country in Asia and that is by a lot. The Tokyo Golf Club oozes with prestige and history, as well as challenges for the best golfers, even. While it might look short, the course packs a punch.
The Lotus Hill Golf Resort
In the city of Guangzhou, China, you can find the Lotus Hill Golf Resort, a place which has its own history. Designed by Bernhard Langer, one of golf’s best players, the course is challenging and tough. Expect water hazards on every single hole but one and there are 18 of them. From creeks, ponds to lakes, you will have quite a challenge if you miss your shots.
The Sentosa Golf Club
Singapore is a marvelous city to see, so it comes as no surprise to find out that it has a very good golf club, called the Sentosa Golf Club. The Serapong course, specifically, is amazing because it is close to the oceanfront, making it not only a challenge, but a tourist attraction.
The challenge lies in all the water hazards and deep bunkers. Turn your eyes for a second and you might get your feet wet. You are, after all, playing on an island.
If touring Asia is what you want to do and you have lots of spare time and a love and appreciation for golf, then these are but some of the many amazing golf courses which you can find on the Asian continent. Asia is vast so expect to find more courses if these are not enough.
